PHLEBOTOMY TRAINING

Our upcoming training is on 31 July 2024.

This course is designed to equip research staff with the theoretical knowledge and skills to perform safe and effective phlebotomy.

We offer training in two essential clinical procedures: Venipuncture and Intravenous Cannulation.

Training is open to staff for research purposes only.

Description

  • Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis
  • Registration closes on 18 July 2024 or when places are fully taken up
  • Kindly fill out the attached registration form and submit it via email to mdcbox10@nus.edu.sg. Please address it to METCPU
  • This course equips research staff with the relevant knowledge and skills to conduct Phlebotomy (for research purposes only)
  • This is a half-day training session, and training materials will be provided upon successful registration
  • Post-training, participants are required to conduct FIVE supervised (by a certified research staff or PI) venipuncture and/or cannulation procedures on actual volunteers within a 90-day timeframe
  • Upon successful completion, a certificate will be issued by the Metabolic Core Phenotyping Unit (MetCPU), Department of Medicine, NUS (valid for a period of 2 years)
  • This certificate is recognised by the NUHS Research Office

Re-certification Course

Only available to research staff who meet the following:

  • Be previously trained and certified by MetCPU up to 24 months prior
  • Please attach previous certificate with your registration form
  • Please attach information on your current job role
  • Staff must attempt both practical and theory tests for re-certification in person
