Please ensure that you verify whether the placement/posting you are applying for is a hands-on clinical placement or a hands-off observership before submitting your application.

All hands-on clinical placements require applicants to obtain a Work Holiday Pass (WHP) issued by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM). To check your eligibility for the WHP, please refer to the following link: Work Holiday Programme (WHP). Please note that approval of the WHP is subject to MOM’s assessment and discretion, even if you meet the eligibility criteria. WHP can only be applied after student is awarded a confirm placement.

If you are not eligible to apply for a WHP, please do not select hands-on clinical placements. Hosting hospitals may withdraw or reject a confirmed placement if you are unable to provide a valid WHP at the point of posting. This is particularly important for placements that do not offer a hands-off observership option.

For hands-off observership the short-term visit pass (STVP) will be sufficient (up to 30 days) and there will not be any cost incurred. Extension beyond 30 days, less than 90 days is possible but student will need to put up a request with ICA (Singapore Immigration) having a valid return ticket and also accommodation in Singapore.
