The MCI program is completed in two years, with the option to extend for a third year if more time is required to finish the research component.

Students are expected to complete both Coursework 1 and 2 in the first year as it is foundational for the research component. The research component can be started as soon as Coursework 2 finishes. Students are required to work individually to develop a research project under close supervision. There will also be ample opportunities to work in teams to develop research ideas into fundable research projects, and to learn other research-related skills such as scientific writing and presentation, and management of research teams.
