Winners of the University Level Awards 2023

Heartiest congratulations to six of our NUS Medicine PhD students who have won university level awards!

 

Chua Toh Hua Memorial Gold Medal

Donated in 1998 by Professor and Mrs Chua Nam Hai in memory of Professor Chua’s late grandfather, Mr Chua Toh Hua, a gold medal is awarded to the Doctor of Philosophy graduate with the most outstanding research work done in Life Sciences.

Congratulations to Dr Ricardo Moreno Traspas on winning the Chua Toh Hua Memorial Gold Medal for 2023 !

Lilly Medal and Prize in Pharmacology

In 2015, a donation from Lilly-NUS Centre for Clinical Pharmacology Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of Eli Lilly and Company led to the establishment of this annual award for students who have excelled in Pharmacology studies and training. A cash prize of $250 and a gold medal will be awarded to the PhD student with the Best PhD Research Thesis in Pharmacology.

Dr Xu Jingru has been awarded the Lilly Medal and Prize in Pharmacology for 2023!

Too Joon Chew PhD Prize

The Too Joon Chew Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Prize was established in 2022 by the Too family in memory of their late father, Mr Too Joon Chew. A cash prize valued at $1000 will be awarded to the top three PhD graduates with the most outstanding work done in their respective field of research.

Yeoh Seang Aun Prizes (in Tuberculosis and Infectious Diseases) - Graduate Prize 2023

The Yeoh Seang Aun Prizes (in Tuberculosis and Infectious Diseases) were donated in 2013 by Dr Yeah Swee Choo. A cash prize of $1,000 each is awarded to one medical undergraduate student and one postgraduate student annually.

Ms Chun Ye Yu, Jade has been awarded the Yeoh Seang Aun Prize in Tuberculosis and Infectious Diseases for 2023!
