International Student Clinical Elective Programme

About The Programme

The Electives Programme at NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (NUS Medicine) offers medical students from universities outside of Singapore the opportunity to complete an electives posting(s) at one of the NUS Medicine-affiliated hospitals. Students will have the opportunity to join and learn alongside our NUS Medicine students from Years 3 to 5 for full–time clinical postings.

During the clinical elective posting(s), students will have the opportunity to undertake the following responsibilities together with NUS Medicine’s students:

  • History taking and interview techniques
  • Physical examination
  • Clinical problem solving
  • Effective communication with patients and relatives
  • Management and treatment approaches
  • Research


Before You Apply

We strongly encourage all applicants to carefully review the detailed guidelines and instructions available on the website. Failure to follow the proper application procedures may result in your application not being considered. Please note that incomplete applications will not be processed.


After Your Posting

At the end of each clinical posting, your supervisor will complete an evaluation of your performance using the official Posting Assessment Form that can be downloaded within your application. Upon successful completion of the Posting Assessment Form, you will receive a Letter of Completion from NUS Medicine.
