The nursing programme at NUS has been ranked tenth in the world and number one in Asia by the recently announced QS World Rankings by Subject 2018. NUS Nursing leapt nine spots from 19th last year, the most improved upon performance by a Top 10 university, according to QS.
The QS World Rankings by Subject, which aim to help prospective students identify the world’s leading schools in their chosen field, highlight top universities internationally in 42 different subject areas based on academic reputation, employer reputation and research impact.
The subject rankings are compiled using four sources: global surveys of academics and employers (used to assess institutions’ international reputation in each subject), and indicators assessing research impact, namely research citations per paper and h-index (a means of measuring both the productivity and impact of the published work) in the relevant subject.
NUS Nursing scored 87.4% overall, powered by high scores for research citations per paper (98.4 out of 100) and h-index (88.7%). We also received high reputational rating by graduate employers (87%) and academic peers around the world (75.3%).
In 2018, the QS World University Rankings by Subject were based on responses from 75,015 academics and 40,455 graduate employers worldwide.
