Dr Victor Koh appointed Head (Designate), Department of Ophthalmology

Dr Koh Teck Chang Victor has been appointed as Head (Designate), Department of Ophthalmology, at the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and National University Hospital (NUH) with effect from 1 September 2020.
Dr Koh is currently a Consultant with the Department of Ophthalmology, NUH and Assistant Professor with NUS Medicine. His area of clinical expertise is in adult and childhood glaucoma management and complex cataract surgery, having completed a 3-year glaucoma fellowship locally and sub-specialisation training in childhood glaucoma and complex glaucoma management at the largest tertiary referral centre in Europe, Moorfields Eye Hospital, UK.
He was awarded translational grants at the national level and currently leads SPIN (Ophthalmology), the flagship programme for translational innovation at NUHS. A firm supporter of educating the next generation of young doctors and medical students to provide a high level of patient care, Dr Koh was awarded the NUS-NUH Young Educator Award 2014 and NUH Young Clinician Mentor Award 2015. He will be taking over the reins as department head from Associate Professor Clement Tan Woon Teck from 1 January 2021.
The School expresses its deepest appreciation to Assoc Prof Tan for his dedicated leadership and sterling service as Head of the Department of Ophthalmology since 2014. Assoc Prof Tan has nurtured and inspired many young doctors, building a pool of medical expertise for Ophthalmology.
