What is the Junior Research Award?

The Junior Research Award is aimed at enabling juniors to gain exposure and experience to the clinical research environment within the diverse disciplines of Department of Medicine. The purpose of this award is to encourage research attachments and mentorship. Interested applicants are required to submit research proposals together with their Department of Medicine mentors’ support.

This award offers a funding quantum of $6,000 for a 1-year project. The funding is solely for the operational needs of the project (e.g. materials and consumables, patient reimbursement, small equipment etc). Manpower cost, IT equipment and conference/travel expenses are not allowable, and no indirect research cost (IRC) will be provided.

Eligibility

This award is open to NUS Medicine Undergraduate/Post-graduate students and Junior Residents. Each applicant is to apply with supervisory support from clinician scientists/investigators from the Department of Medicine, NUH/NUS. Ethics approval (if applicable) must be obtained prior to the application and commencement of the project.
