Programme Highlights

This CAH5105 course emphasises the general practitioner’s (GP’s) role in prevention and early identification of common learning, emotional, behavioural and health problems in school-going children – learners will be equipped with skills to recognise these problems as school-going children frequently present to the primary are setting for minor ailments. Apart from timely and appropriate referral to specialist care when required, learners will be imparted skills to provide advice to parents, offer community-based resources, and lifestyle modification counselling to these children.

This CAH5105 course is part of the Graduate Certificate in Child Development and Adolescent Health.

  • Learning Together Clinics (LTC) will be conducted once every two weeks (weekday AM/PM) or weekend (AM only). Successful applicants may be able to choose their preferred LTC sessions based on the availability of clinic slots. More details will be shared closer to the clinic dates.

Pre-Requisites and Assessment

Prerequisite

  1. M.B.B.S. degree or equivalent
  2. At least 2 years post-registration
  3. English language requirement: applicants whose native tongue or medium of undergraduate instruction is not English must fulfil a minimum level of English proficiency (TOEFL)

Assessment

The assessment will be conducted longitudinally throughout the Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma course using the following formats: Attendance (at least 80%), Assignments, Demonstrations, Online self-assessments, Key Features Problems and/or Script Concordance Tests.

Awards and Certification

Completion of the CAH5105 course and 2 other courses (CAH5104 and CAH5106) will lead to a Graduate Certificate in Child Development and Adolescent Health.

1) All self-sponsored Singaporean aged 25 and above can use their SkillsFuture Credit to pay for the course fee.

2) Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy (MCES): Singaporeans aged 40 and above may enjoy subsidies up to 90% of the course fee.

3) Enhanced Training Support for SMEs (ETSS): SME-sponsored employees (Singapore Citizens and PRs) may enjoy subsidies up to 90% of the course fee.

4) Learners must record at least 80% attendance and pass all assessment components to successfully complete the course.

Points to note

  • Course submission closes on 5 Nov 2023 (Sunday) 23:59HR (strictly no extension will be given). No payment is collected now, as the courses are ongoing registration.
  • As part of the submission requirement for academic courses, please prepare to upload your NRIC (front and back) / transcript / Certification during the application.
  • All applicants will be notified of the application outcome (offered/rejected) ~ 4 weeks after registration closing. You will need to accept/reject the course offering by then & the school’s administrative & finance team will contact all applicants to proceed with administration & corp billing/payment/ Skillsfuture application in stages.
  • Courses are not offered on a first-come, first-serve basis. A committee will review all applications base on the eligibility criteria.
  • Student Services Fee of $25.46 is payable for the semester after enrolling in the academic course.
