Programme Highlights
This course (CAH5103) emphasises on the general practitioner’s (GP’s) role in managing common acute medical conditions in children and adolescents presenting to primary healthcare. Learners will also be proficient in recognising and stabilising common paediatric emergencies such as acute respiratory distress, severe infections, shock states and more. In addition, learners will gain insight on how to refer to specialist care appropriately after initial management.
CAH5103 is one of three courses that form the Graduate Certificate in Child Health.
Learners are required to sign up for all 3 GC1 individual courses (CAH5101, CAH5102 and CAH5103) during the application period.
- The Sem 1 AY24/25 application period for all 3 courses under the Graduate Certificate in Child Health will open on 06 May 2024.

Pre-Requisites and Assessment
Prerequisite
- M.B.B.S. degree or equivalent
- At least 2 years post-registration
- English language requirement: applicants whose native tongue or medium of undergraduate instruction is not English must fulfil a minimum level of English proficiency (TOEFL)
Assessment
The assessment will be conducted longitudinally throughout the Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma course using the following formats: Attendance (at least 80%), Assignments, Demonstrations, Online self-assessments, Key Features Problems and/or Script Concordance Tests.
Awards and Certification
Completion of the CAH5103 module and 2 other modules will lead to a Graduate Certificate in Child Health.

1) All self-sponsored Singaporeans aged 25 and above can use their SkillsFuture Credit to pay for the course fee.
2) Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy (MCES): Singaporeans aged 40 and above may enjoy subsidies up to 90% of the course fee.
3) Enhanced Training Support for SMEs (ETSS): SME-sponsored employees (Singapore Citizens and PRs) may enjoy subsidies up to 90% of the course fee.
4) As this is a SSG-approved course, learners must pass all assessment components to successfully complete the course and receive a Certificate of Completion. Learners may have to bear the full course fee if they fail to meet this requirement.
