Biography
Matthew Cove is an internist and intensivist who trained in the UK and USA before moving to Singapore. His research focuses on organ support and respiratory failure, including the development of novel approaches to carbon dioxide removal and the study of patient–ventilator asynchrony. He leads platform clinical trials and collaborates with REMAP-CAP and PREPARE to expand clinical trial capability across Southeast Asia, and has received continuous competitive funding for his laboratory since arriving in Singapore.
A passionate intensivist and educator, he has led mechanical ventilation workshops across Southeast Asia and is committed to improving the teaching and practice of respiratory support. Clinically, he cares for patients across acute medicine and intensive care and has worked with surgical colleagues to integrate medical intensivists into the surgical high-dependency unit, reflecting his broader interest in collaborative approaches to the care of acutely and critically ill patients.
