About this Atlas
Obstetrics and Gynaecology is a speciality that spans a woman's life course with care that integrates the principles of internal medicine and general surgical practice.
Recognising the physical, pathological and radiological signs of illness and associating them with disease pathology is a vital part of undergraduate medical training.
This atlas is an archive of original images sourced from the diverse repertoire of patients who have received care from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the National University Hospital, Singapore.
Each clinical picture comprises four questions that are blueprinted to the undergraduate medical curriculum to facilitate self-directed learning and exam preparedness. Due to the picture supremacy effect, we believe that all learning domains (cognitive, affective and psychomotor), and memory (encoding, storage and retrieval) will be enhanced. The digital format enables user access via a computer, tablet, or mobile device and will permit the regular updating of clinical material.
We are indebted to our patients who have consented to publication of their pictures for medical education. Finally, international students and faculty who wish to access or contribute to this resource are welcome to contact the Editors.
Sincerely,
The Editors,
