Nightingale aims to create a supportive and inclusive community for nursing students by providing a sense of family and belonging for those who may feel overwhelmed by the demands of their studies. Ultimately, our goal in Nightingale is to create a space where nursing students can come together to support one another through the challenges of their academic and professional journeys, and to foster a sense of camaraderie and belonging within the school.

“The mentoring program provided me with exposure to the different struggles of freshmen, with whom we were able to communicate effectively. This has proven to be incredibly valuable in both my personal and professional life. By allowing seniors to guide juniors firsthand, we were able to hone our communication and problem-solving skills. The activities were engaging, making the process enjoyable and fulfilling. Although the program could be further improved by increasing accessibility to different activities to engage with juniors, the frequent reminders helped me stay on track and achieve my goals. Overall, I highly recommend the Peer Mentoring Programme to students looking to engage with the seniors of their faculty, and vice versa.”

“The mentoring was an incredibly valuable experience for me as it provided an opportunity for me to learn from the experience and wisdom of my senior counterparts of Nursing. Having a senior mentor helped me navigate challenges and opportunities of my academic and personal journey. She provided advice on how to excel academically, navigate situations such as sponsorship interviews, and emphasised on important skills such as time management and communication. Overall, I definitely recommend participating in the Peer Mentoring Programme as it is an enriching experience that can have a lasting impact on your academic and personal growth.”
