Dr Rooma Panchmatia is an experienced and passionate educator in health professions education, with a strong background in curriculum design and student-centred teaching. She is dedicated to empowering future healthcare professionals to think critically, act compassionately, and bridge the gap between theory and clinical practice. At NUS, she teaches Anatomy, Physiology, and Pathophysiology using interactive, student-centred approaches that promote active learning and real-world clinical application.

Her teaching philosophy focuses on creating supportive learning environments that encourage collaboration, independence, and a growth mindset. Using scaffolded instruction, Dr Panchmatia guides students to develop confidence and competence, building a strong foundation in both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.

An advocate for educational innovation, Dr Panchmatia has contributed to faculty development initiatives, peer mentoring programmes, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Her research focuses on enhancing educational practices in the health sciences, with particular interest in curriculum innovation and the integration of Entrustable Professional Activities (EPA) to support competency-based education.

Dr Panchmatia remains committed to advancing nursing education at NUS and nurturing reflective, capable, and compassionate healthcare practitioners.
