Dr Zeng Yingchun is an Assistant Professor at the National University of Singapore (NUS) Nursing (since 2025) and Founder of the FIT Research TeamFundamental, Impactful, and Translational. FIT’s mission is to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into cancer nursing care, translating ideas and algorithms into bedside-ready workflows and scalable survivorship support. Through this mission, Dr Zeng and her team aim to improve outcomes for people living with cancerespecially older adultsin Singapore and beyond.

Motivated by the global challenge of population ageing, Dr Zeng leads technology-driven innovations at the intersection of nursing science, AI, and digital health. She co-led the development of the national guideline (T/CMEAS 046-2025) for digital-intelligence construction of integrated monitoring, early warning, and intervention systems in rehabilitation institutions. She also co-led the design and prototype development of a smart care robot (Xiao Lu) for older adults—conducting needs assessment and workflow analysis across diverse care contexts, prioritizing features based on clinical relevance and feasibility, and guiding clinical adaptation to ensure alignment with real-world nursing practice.

A key stream of her research is the development and evaluation of AI-enabled decision support for nurses. She developed an autonomous delirium AI agent that integrates a delirium-specific knowledge graph, retrieval-augmented generation, and validated delirium assessment tools to support nurse-led screening and decision-making. Supported by competitive funding (including the National Natural Science Foundation of China), she developed a virtual reality (VR) system for cognitive assessment and rehabilitation in cancer populations, with a subsystem designed for early screening of mild cognitive impairment in older adults.

Dr Zeng has authored 100+ peer-reviewed publications and delivered nearly 30 presentations at international conferences. She holds two invention patents and six software copyrights, including one invention patent translated into clinical research. She serves as Associate Editor of the Journal of Cancer Survivorship and is on the editorial boards of Integrative Cancer Therapies and the Asia-Pacific Journal of Oncology Nursing, with extensive peer-review contributions across leading international journals.

Her contributions have been recognized through multiple honors, including Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing (FAAN, 2021) and being named a Top 2% Scientist globally for consecutive years since 2021 (including career-impact recognition since 2024). Dr Zeng welcomes interdisciplinary collaborations and grant partnerships to accelerate rigorous development, clinical validation, and implementation of AI and digital innovations that strengthen nursing-led care and improve patient outcomes.
