Dr Vivien is an Assistant Professor at Alice Lee Centre for Nursing Studies, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. Dr Vivien is a primary member of the Healthy Longevity Translational Research Program at NUS. Currently, Dr Vivien serves as the Chair, Geriatric Care and Wellness Research Programme at NUS Nursing.

Dr Vivien’s research is centred on Chronic Disease Management for Older Adults and Caregivers, Intergenerational Programs to promote Healthy Longevity in the Community, Gerontechnology, Professional development of the Healthcare Workforce, and Nursing Education. Her research work on ageing has gained international recognition. Dr Vivien has been awarded with World’s Top 2% Most Cited Scientists by Stanford University in 2023, Emerging Nurse Researcher/Scholar Award, Sigma Theta Tau International in 2022, Early Career Investigator Award, Interstellar Initiative by New York Academy of Sciences and Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development, and Asian University Alliance Scholars in 2020. Vivien has published widely in high impact international refereed journals and book chapters. Vivien has served as editor and reviewer for International Nursing and Medical Journals.

Dr Vivien has been awarded with National Medical Research Council, Population Health Research Grant in 2023 on Precision Care Pathway through frailty and cognitive assessment among older adults in the Community, Japan Society for the Promotion of Science and NUS Joint Research Grant in 2022 to establish healthy longevity program using exercise memory through aerobic and resistant exercise intervention in middle-age and older adults with Type 2 Diabetes, Mind the Gap – Mental Health Fund in 2021 on Community Dance Program for Older Adults, Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Welfare Foundation Research Grant in 2020 for Development of an Intelligent Advisory System for Safe and Active Aging, NUS Start Up Grant in 2019 on Community-based e-health program for older adults, Mind-Science Centre Grant in 2019 for the Intergenerational Reminiscence and Narrative Therapy to promote healthy aging in the community, Ministry of Education Tertiary-Research Fund in 2017 for the Healthcare Workforce Professional Development study.
