Dr. Jiang Ying has been in nursing for more than 15 years. She is a Registered Nurse and Registered Mental Health Nurse in Singapore. Jiang Ying has extensive clinical experience and skills in medical and surgical nursing, community nursing, and mental health. She is the recipient of the Ministry of Health Scholarship for Nursing study in Singapore. Before joining the National University of Singapore (NUS), Jiang Ying worked at the National University Hospital (NUH). She received the Nightingale award for outstanding performance while working at the National University Hospital in 2010.
Dr. Jiang Ying is currently an Assistant Professor at the Alice Lee Centre for Nursing Studies (ALCNS), National University of Singapore (NUS). Her research interests lie in the areas of chronic disease management, cardiovascular nursing, cardiac rehabilitation, and mental health. With her background in mental health, her Ph.D. research focuses on improving care provision to better support chronic heart failure patients recovering at home, enhance their long-term disease self-management after discharge, and reduce the disruption to their lives caused by frequent hospital admissions.
Since Dr. Jiang Ying joined the department in 2014, she has actively and consistently participated in research to stay abreast with current practice trends. She has published over 30 peer-reviewed papers in the top international refereed medical/nursing journals with good impact factors. She has also presented her research work at local and international conferences and won the Best Poster Presentation Award at the Singapore Prevention and Cardiac Rehabilitation Symposium in 2019. As a Principal Investigator, Dr. Jiang Ying has also been awarded a Health Service Research Seed Grant from NUHS to explore innovative ways to keep our seniors active in the community.
