Thesis Advisory Committee (TAC)

This Committee will be formed within two months after the students have passed the PhD Qualifying Examination for MSc (Nursing) candidates or two months after their enrolment for the Direct PhD programme for PhD candidates and is responsible for monitoring the candidate’s progress. Further details will be available for admitted candidates in the NURSINGNet.

PhD Qualifying Examination

The examination aims to:

  • Allow the student to upgrade / confirm as a PhD candidate;
  • Ensure the student has satisfactory research progress;
  • Ensure the student’s research proposal is sufficient for a PhD;
  • Ensure the student is competent at the PhD level.
Thesis Examination

MSc (Nursing) Programme:

  • After submission to the University, the MSc (Nursing) thesis will be examined by two internal examiners.

PhD Programme:

  • After submission to the University, the PhD thesis will be examined by a minimum of two internal examiners.
