At the Alice Lee Center for Nursing Studies (NUS Nursing), we are committed to give students the school experiences necessary in discovering their strengths and passions, while giving them the tools needed to be able to apply themselves in real-life settings.

From the very start of your nursing education with NUS Nursing, you will be enriched by stimulating classroom and clinical training, guided by evidenced-based curriculum that reflects ever-changing healthcare needs, supported by your peers, and mentored by highly qualified  faculty.

Our advanced nursing studies are your building blocks to realising your professional goals. Take it from our students themselves who have made leaps and bounds in their professional undertakings since enrolling in our nursing programmes.

Ang Wei How Darryl, currently a full-time PhD candidate and recipient of the NUS Research Scholarship (PhD), proudly states that he had “a positive learning experience” during his time as an undergraduate. This convinced him to trust NUS Nursing leadership in nursing studies once again and continue his education.

He continues, “As an aspiring educator, NUS Nursing provides me with numerous opportunities to share my knowledge with undergraduate students. These interactions are stimulating as it challenges my thought processes, builds my ability to articulate better and an opportunity to exchange ideas with the younger generation.”

Another student, Hadassah Joann Ramachandran who is now a senior staff nurse and PhD candidate at NUS Nursing, similarly decided to return to her alma mater. Thanks to her experiences as an undergraduate that she says has left her with many life skills and wonderful friendships and mentorships, she has also returned to enrol in our leadership in nursing studies programme.

“I believe this places NUS Nursing in a unique position to offer its doctoral students with equally unique research perspectives that prepares them to stay relevant in the region, yet ready from a global interpretative standpoint to address the needs of healthcare systems and communities,” she shares, adding that she believes her programme and others offered by the school are world-class.

As research fellow, Seah Betsy shares, “The PhD programme at NUS Nursing allows me to have the experiential learning, which hones my project management, writing and communication skills that are critical for any researchers. Having close guidance and supervision from experienced faculty staff also helped ease the learning process.”

Also, a research fellow, Woo Fong Yeong Brigitte understands what sets the institution apart from others. She mentions, “There is a diverse selection of academics teaching in the programme. NUS Nursing also has five research pillars where numerous impactful work has been done. Prospective students can explore their interests based on these pillars.”

Siriwan Lim, a Clinical Associate/Nurse Clinician and currently the Programme Director in the NUS Bachelor of Science (Nursing Practice), chose NUS nursing for her PhD because she was impressed with the research work done by NUS Nursing post-graduate students and faculty members. She adds, “They gave me the confidence I need to embark on my PhD journey with NUS Nursing as I believe I can receive the support I need to complete my PhD in such a vibrant research environment.”

“The research knowledge and experience I gained, as well as the network I built with expert researchers from different institutions and countries from my PhD journey are priceless! [Studying at NUS Nursing has] opened doors for me to collaborate with other clinicians, academicians and researchers locally, regionally and internationally.”

NUS Nursing believes that no student should fall behind in their dreams of becoming a nursing professional whether in the fields of education, research or clinical practice. Thus, we offer our PhD tracks for full-time and part-time students, allowing them to set the pace for their learning. Additionally, our PhD programme also has flexible options for its thesis, namely, traditional thesis and integrated thesis by publication.
