Programme Overview

This course aims to provide an opportunity for practitioners to acquire knowledge and skills to guide learners in applying classroom knowledge to real-world situations. Practitioners are required to draw on theoretical knowledge and clinical experience gained through the course to conduct a clinical teaching session at the point of care.

Aims of Programme

This programme aims to allow participants to:

  • discuss the characteristics, roles and responsibilities of an effective preceptor;
  • apply adult learning theories and clinical teaching skills to enhance clinical learning;
  • assess learners’ performance and provide effective feedback to improve learning; and
  • conduct a clinical teaching session to learners using clinical teaching moments.

Programme Details

2 full days from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.

Healthcare professionals such as nurses and allied health professionals who wish to provide clinical teaching and supervision to develop capabilities and competencies of students and professionals.
