11 July 2025

On 10 July 2025, the NUS Alice Lee Centre for Nursing Studies (NUS Nursing) celebrated its graduating Class of 2025 at the University Cultural Centre, marking an important milestone in the journeys of its newest nursing graduates.

The commencement ceremony for NUS Nursing was the first of the many ceremonies taking place this commencement season. Over 400 graduates attended the ceremony, crossing the stage to receive their degrees in the presence of their families, friends, faculty members, and invited guests, who gathered to honour their achievements and hard work.

This year’s graduating cohort included students from the Bachelor of Science (Nursing) programme, Bachelor of Science (Nursing) (Honours), and the Master of Nursing programme. Valedictorian Bernard Liang captured the spirit of the occasion in his speech. “Today, we celebrate more than just the completion of our nursing degree—we honour the late nights, the early mornings, and the quiet resilience that kept us going through exhaustion and doubt. This is more than a graduation; it is our moment of triumph, and I am deeply honoured to stand here as your valedictorian, representing a class of some of the most resilient, compassionate, and inspiring individuals I have ever known.”

This year’s commencement holds special significance as NUS Nursing celebrates its 20th anniversary, alongside NUS’ 120th anniversary. These milestones are a testament to the University’s enduring commitment to excellence in education, research, and service to the community. The ceremony also saw several graduates receiving academic awards in recognition of their outstanding performance and contributions during their time at NUS Nursing.

As they step into the next chapter of their professional lives, NUS Nursing’s graduates carry with them the hopes of shaping the future of healthcare in Singapore and beyond. Congratulations to the Class of 2025 – may you continue to advance health and enrich lives wherever you go.
