Nurse Clinician (Advanced Practice Nurse), National University Cancer Institute, Singapore
Graduated with: Bachelor of Science (Nursing) (Hons), 2010 and Master of Nursing, 2016

As a member of the pioneering batch of local degree nurses in Singapore, my experience at NUS Nursing was truly groundbreaking. While we were indeed ‘guinea pigs,’ we were also trailblazers, shaping traditions that continue to define NUS Nursing today. The support and opportunities we received were unparalleled. The curriculum’s emphasis on deep, self-directed learning was transformative. It prepared us holistically to address the evolving complexities of healthcare in Singapore.

The motto ‘seek the truth and meaning’ became my guiding principle, inspiring me to continually explore the depths of nursing practice. This foundation propelled me to become an Advanced Practice Nurse, allowing me to practice at the highest level of my license. It’s a testament to the program’s ability to nurture not just competent nurses, but leaders in the field. My journey has come full circle as I prepare to embark on my PhD studies at NUS this year. This decision reflects my unwavering faith in the rigor and quality of NUS’s education system. It also allows me to balance my pursuit of academic excellence with my commitments to family and work. The NUS Nursing program didn’t just educate me; it inspired a lifelong passion for learning and excellence in healthcare. As I continue my academic journey, I carry with me the innovative spirit and dedication to holistic care that defined my undergraduate experience.

Advanced Practice Nurse/ Nurse Clinician in Khoo Teck Puat Hospital
Graduated with: Bachelor of Science (Nursing) (Hons), 2012 and Master of Nursing, 2019

I am an Advanced Practice Nurse in the Hospital-at-Home program at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. In my current role, I provide acute-level care to patients in their homes, integrating clinical expertise, operational strategy and mentorship. My journey began at NUS Nursing, where I was equipped not only with foundational clinical knowledge but more importantly, with the critical thinking skills that now guide my decision-making in complex, home-based care environments. NUS nurtured my ability to lead, innovate, and advocate for nursing beyond hospital walls—impacting both patient outcomes and the evolution of care delivery in the community.
