Hear from Our Students and Alumni

The Alice Lee Centre for Nursing Studies is one of the top universities in Asia for quality nursing degree and nursing courses

When pursuing a nursing degree in Singapore, the Alice Lee Centre for Nursing Studies’ (NUS Nursing) Bachelor of Science (Nursing) / Bachelor of Science (Nursing) (Honours) programme offers the most enriching experience for all students. ALCNS’ BSc (Nursing) degree is a 3-year undergraduate programme.

However, students who have performed well throughout the programme and have achieved a minimum grade point average of 3.2, are eligible to apply to further their nursing in the Honours year thus gaining the degree of BSc (Nursing)(Honours).

ALCNS’ full-time Undergraduate Nursing Degree Programme aims to prepare nurses to be safe and competent nurse practitioners. Our BSc (Nursing) programme prepares and develops students to be registered nurses armed with critical, analytical, and reflective skills, thereby skilled to deliver quality care that will improve patient outcomes. Our students will be poised to work with other healthcare professionals in various healthcare settings.

Therefore, this programme provides a broad foundation in nursing, humanities, biological and social sciences, which are essential for preparing safe and professional nurses. In addition, the programme is designed to provide a foundation for graduate education in nursing.

As described by our very own full-time undergraduate students, our approach to educating and training you in this profession is not limited to mastery of classroom content. Our goal for you is to be able to be adept and apply yourself in practical settings as we equip you with core nursing skills as well as critical workplace competencies, both of which are integral in providing your patients with thorough and compassionate service.

Student Lim Jia Zhen Theresa May has experienced this firsthand, revealing that, “The NUS Nursing programme has helped me to be an independent learner, providing me with opportunities to dive deeper into the content and to practise my nursing skills.”

It’s a sentiment that her fellow student Melody Su Yu Foon shares. In thinking about her experiences in the programme, Melody wishes to tell future NUS students that, “My journey in nursing has been characterised by growth thus far. The nurturing environment supports us greatly as we seek to hone our nursing skills and critical thinking abilities.”

Our students have also flourished under close mentorship with instructors that value both your academic and personal growth, as shared by student, Shaik Muhammad Hamzah. He says, “NUS Nursing provides an innovative learning environment and also supportive educators who guide us in developing our full potential.”

Be among the country’s best and learn from the brightest minds as this programme builds you to become an invaluable leader and practitioner in the field, one who delivers quality care and improves patient outcomes.

Individuals who want to study nursing in Singapore may pursue this programme as a full-time student and complete the required units in three (3) years. This intensive programme entails focus and commitment, but also ensures that you are intellectually stimulated, challenged, and prepared to become a competent practitioner.
