Professor Julian Savulescu elected as a Fellow of the Australian Academy of the Humanities

We are delighted to announce that Professor Julian Savulescu, Chen Su Lan Professor in Medical Ethics and Director of the Centre for Biomedical Ethics at NUS Medicine was elected as a Fellow of the Australian Academy of the Humanities on 22 November.
As one of Australia’s five Learned Academies, the Australian Academy of the Humanities was established in 1969 to advance knowledge of, and the pursuit of excellence in the humanities. The Fellowship of the Academy comprises more than 700 distinguished individuals elected in recognition of the excellence and impact of their scholarship in various humanities fields including archaeology, the arts, Asian and European studies, classical studies, Indigenous studies, literature, cultural and communication studies, languages and linguistics, philosophy, musicology, history, and religion.
Professor Savulescu’s election as a Fellow is a significant achievement and is testament to the outstanding contribution he has made to his discipline, and the exceptionally high regard in which he is held by his peers in the humanities community, both in Australia and abroad.
