NUS Medicine welcomes Adj A/Prof Khoo Chin Meng as Assistant Dean (Education)

We pleased to welcome Adjunct Associate Professor Khoo Chin Meng as Assistant Dean (Education), with effect from 1 October 2026.
A highly respected clinician, educator, and academic leader, Adj A/Prof Khoo brings to the role a wealth of experience in medical education, curriculum development, and clinical training. He currently serves as Senior Consultant and Head of the Division of Endocrinology at the National University Hospital (NUH) and is Adjunct Associate Professor at the Department of Medicine, NUS Medicine. He also leads the Investigational Medicine Unit and Metabolic Phenotyping Unit at NUH.
Over the years, Adj A/Prof Khoo has played a pivotal role in shaping undergraduate medical education at NUS Medicine. His longstanding contributions span curriculum design, student assessment, and educational innovation, reflecting his commitment to training future generations of doctors. He previously served as Phase III Director and chaired the Endocrinology and Metabolism System-Based Workgroup. Since 2012, he has also led the Final MBBS Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) as Chair, helping to uphold rigorous standards in clinical assessment.
Beyond these leadership roles, Adj A/Prof Khoo has made significant contributions to areas such as electronic examinations, mini-CEX standardisation, reflective learning, and the development of Modified Essay Questions for the Medicine Finals. His work has been instrumental in enhancing educational quality and ensuring students receive a robust and relevant learning experience. Known for his passion for medical education, Adj A/Prof Khoo is a strong advocate for cultivating clinical reasoning, reflective practice, and self-directed learning among medical students. His student-centred approach encourages learners to think critically, adapt to evolving healthcare challenges, and embrace lifelong learning.
In addition to his educational contributions, he has actively mentored medical students in research and has established a distinguished track record in the fields of endocrinology, diabetes, obesity, and metabolic medicine.
