MOH Advisory on Novel Coronavirus (nCoV) Pneumonia

In view of the developing novel coronavirus situation in Wuhan and other parts of the China, the Ministry of Health, Singapore (MOH) has put in place precautionary measures and updated its public health travel advisory.

“Ensure good hand hygiene, stay away from live animal markets, seek medical attention from your GP if you are not feeling well and are still not better after three, four days.” – Professor Paul Tambyah
Professor Paul Tambyah from the Department of Medicine at the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and Senior Consultant in the Division of Infectious Diseases, NUHS also shared that Singapore is better prepared to handle an outbreak today, as compared to the SARS outbreak 17 years ago.
He added, “I think that we should be concerned but there are plenty of measures in place to detect cases, isolate and treat them appropriately in Singapore as well as in the other countries in the region”.
