The work of the NUS medical school is made possible by a team of administrators, whose professional and executive skills support the teaching and research work of the academic staff. We pay tribute to two stalwart administrators who left us recently.

Mr Quek Jin Nan, Associate Director, NUS IT, passed away suddenly on Saturday, 3 February 2018 while on an evening jog.

Jin Nan joined the then-NUS Computer Centre in May 1997 and was seconded to NUS Medicine subsequently in January 2011 to head the IT Unit. He was an effective bridge between Central and the School, ensuring the smooth implementation of myriad IT and data policies and the establishment of the School’s network of computer systems and software programmes. Jin Nan, 58, served with distinction and was a loyal staff member, faithful colleague and wonderful friend. He leaves behind his beloved wife, two adult sons and a teenage daughter.

Mr Kelvin Chin Zhen Sheng, Assistant Manager, Education Division (Centre for Healthcare Simulation), passed away peacefully on Saturday, 10 February 2018.

Kelvin joined the School in July 2008. He was a key member of the team responsible for Centre for Healthcare Simulation projects, including the setting up of the Virtual Reality Simulation Laboratory and the coordination of the implementation of the VRS curriculum. Kelvin was also instrumental in sourcing for new simulation and IT solutions to enhance simulation training for all learners in CHS. He was well-liked, trusted and a jovial colleague and friend. Kelvin, 38, leaves behind his beloved wife and four children: two daughters and two young sons.
