Assistant Professor Chong Choon Seng appointed Assistant Dean (Enterprise)

Assistant Professor Chong Choon Seng has been appointed as Assistant Dean for Enterprise at the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, with effect from 1 November 2019.
Asst Prof Chong is currently with the Department of Surgery under the University Surgical Cluster, National University Health System (NUHS) and a Consultant with the National University Cancer Institute, Singapore. He is actively involved with the department’s undergraduate and postgraduate medical education and has received numerous awards including the Best Teacher award, NUH Excellence Teaching Award, Special Recognition Award and the Dean’s Honour Roll for Teaching Excellence. In 2019, he was awarded the NUH Eminent Teacher Award in recognition of his continual excellence in teaching efforts.
Asst Prof Chong’s clinical interest is in minimally invasive colorectal cancer surgery. He is an established course instructor for various cancer treatments such as endoscopic stenting and resection for cancers, transanal total mesorectal excision (taTME) for rectal cancers and laparoscopic surgery for colorectal cancer. In Singapore, he is a representative for robotic surgery in the division of colorectal surgery at NUHS; and internationally, a visiting expert with Boston Scientific and a recognised collaborator in the COLOR III trial.
