NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine’s Centre for Biomedical Ethics (CBmE) hosted the 13th International Conference on Clinical Ethics Consultation (ICCEC) on May 25-27, 2017 at the Singapore’s Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel. Held for the first time in South-east Asia, the ICCEC is a leading conference series attended by international clinical ethics committees and bioethicists around the world. A total of 330 participants, of which half came from abroad, attended this conference. Key topics and clinical ethical issues faced by medical ethicists around the globe were discussed. Sponsored by the Ministry of Health Singapore, and supported by government hospitals and local foundations, the ICCEC underscores the importance that the health ministry is placing on ethics training for medical and healthcare professionals in Singapore.
