Masters & PhD by Research

The department is dedicated to providing not only excellent patient care and ground breaking research but also outstanding education for our graduate students. We warmly welcome you to pursue a graduate research programme in our department. We provide ample opportunities and guidance for graduate research students with our well established infrastructure and senior mentors with extensive experience in research methodology.

Research in the department is broadly categorized into the following areas:

  • Stem cells and tissue engineering in musculoskeletal tissues
  • Biology, biomechanics and tissue engineering approaches in spinal fusion
  • Development of functionalized bioactive biomaterials for orthopaedic implants
  • Bone and cartilage cell biology and pathophysiology
  • Bioengineering and biomechanical studies, including motion analysis
  • Musculoskeletal oncology

Scholarships and Financial Aid

Financial support in the form of scholarships is available for qualified candidates. To be eligible for research scholarships, applicants must have at least a second upper class Honours degree.
