Bigger, brighter, better human anatomy teaching facility at NUS caters to more students

The newly refurbished Human Anatomy Teaching Facility, situated within the Department of Anatomy's building on the NUS Medicine campus, was opened today by Mr Gan Kim Yong, the Minister for Health. In addition to extensive upgrades that have increased the area of teaching space, the enhanced facility can now hold up to 100 cadavers, known as Silent Mentors that contribute to the lively teaching of human anatomy for medical students and practising healthcare professionals.

Discovery paves the way for potential genetics-guided precision medicine for paediatric leukaemia patients

Researchers from NUS Medicine have found that one in five Singaporean children undergoing chemotherapy for acute lymphoplastic leukaemia (ALL) has an inherited genetic variation that makes them sensitive to standard doses of chemotherapy. This discovery paves the way for the personalisation of chemotherapy doses for paediatric leukaemia patients.
