Eligibility & Language
Applicants must be bona fide undergraduate students of a medical school and already in their clinical years. Undergraduate medical students must complete at least 1 year of clinical placement/postings with their home university at the point of their overseas clinical elective.
English is the medium of instruction and the language used for patient care in the relevant hospitals. You don’t need to provide certification or proof of English Language proficiency. If English is not your first language, you need to be able to understand and converse well in basic English.
Application Timeline
Applicants are encouraged to apply up to 12 months in advance of their desired start date. However, all applications must be submitted at least 6 months prior to the intended start date—no exceptions, regardless of prior communication or arrangements.
Please note: Applications submitted less than 6 months in advance will strictly not be considered. This policy ensures that NUS Medicine has ample time to coordinate with hospitals and relevant departments to make the necessary preparations for your posting.
