Biography
As the Head of Dept of Otolaryngology, A/Prof Raymond Ngo advances the academic activities for the University and oversees the delivery of otolaryngology clinical care for the National University Hospital. He was the previous Head of Dept of Otolaryngology for Ng Teng Fong General Hospital from 2020 to 2026.
He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin in 1995 and completed his residency in Singapore in 2006. He did his Otology & Neuro-Otology Fellowship training in Vancouver, Canada.
He is active in postgraduate training, serving as the Programme Director for the NUHS Otolaryngology Residency from 2009 to 2019. He then served as the Associate Designated Institutional Official at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital till 2025. He is the current Chair of the Residency Advisory Committee for Otolaryngology.
His research interests are in eustachian tube disorders, endoscopic ear surgery, cochlear implants and vestibular diseases. He organised the first endoscopic ear surgery course in Singapore and is a member of the International Working Group of Endoscopic Ear Surgery. He is regularly invited as a faculty to regional and international courses for endoscopic ear surgery. He initiated the endoscopic ear surgery fellowship in NUHS in 2025.
