Programme Highlights
By the end of this course, learners will be able to:
a. Leverage Python- and R-programming to extract, analyse, and visualize complex biomedical data, enabling evidence-based decision-making in Precision Medicine.
b. Develop proficiency in essential bioinformatics skills to navigate and interpret large-scale biomedical datasets in personalized healthcare.
c. Cultivate competence to design and implement novel algorithms and workflows to drive Precision Medicine applications.
Benefits of Attending
This module equips students with critical programming skills for the rapidly evolving field of precision medicine. Through mastery of Python, R, and Linux, students develop a comprehensive foundation in advanced data analysis, visualization, and manipulation techniques tailored specifically for biomedical applications. Building on this foundation, the curriculum integrates hands-on experience in managing large-scale datasets, applying sophisticated biostatistical methods, and developing reproducible research workflows.
As students hone their practical skills in bioinformatics, biostatistics, and command-line operations, they become adept at processing complex biomedical data using state-of-the-art computational tools.
Ultimately, this module arms students with programming expertise crucial for advancing personalized healthcare, while simultaneously paving the way for further studies in the Master of Science (MSc) in Precision Health and Medicine programme.
Who Should Attend
Clinicians, healthcare professionals and administrators, biomedical researchers, data scientists, professionals and students aspiring to enter precision medicine.
