Programme Highlights

The first health coaching course to go beyond classroom learning, and gives participants the chance to practice their health coaching skills in patient interactions.

This course provides participants with the opportunity to witness live health coaching sessions conducted with a variety of patients within a hospital setting. Participants will then be given the chance to conduct health coaching sessions with supervision and feedback by trained health coaches. This further supports the development of participants’ health coaching skills, and empowers them to apply their skills in a real world setting.

Benefits of Attending

This course enables participants to gain valuable insight into how health coaching is conducted in a hospital setting. It is the first course to allow participants to observe trained health coaches carry out sessions with patients. In addition, participants are given the opportunity to directly apply newly learned skills with professional guidance and feedback, giving them the confidence to put their new skills to use.

At the end of the course, participants should be able to:
1)Explain the benefits of health coaching to patients
2)Describe the role of health coaches in healthcare settings and in the community
3)Demonstrate the use of opened ended questions and reflections to build rapport
4) Use core coaching competencies to manage conversations with patients and enable them to develop their own health goals
