Registration of Projects by Supervisor

NUS Medicine Supervisors must register their available projects in the UROP portal first before their students can select these projects. 

Staff with an appointment under NUS Medicine (e.g. Clinical Faculty Scheme (CFS) etc) may also apply as supervisors.

Registration of Projects by Students

Students can register for UROP projects in the UROP portal. Once you have registered, please click on ‘Projects Registered by Students’ to view your registration.

Withdrawal of UROP

Student(s) who wish to withdraw from UROP are required to seek approval from their supervisor. Please state the project title, name of supervisor, reason(s) for withdrawal, and send the supervisor’s email approval on the withdrawal to the following staff:

Record of UROP participation

Undergraduate students who wish to participate in the programme must register online before commencement of the project(s). Please note that there should be no back-dating of projects as only work done from the date of registration will be considered. Each research project must be certified by the supervisor, who may be an academic teaching staff member or a research scientist. 

Students will be assessed on the following:

  • Literature research
  • Project work
  • Number of hours
  • Commitment
  • Quality of work
  • Project report
  • Scientific publication
  • Conference/seminar participation
  • Awards

Students who have participated successfully (at least 16 weeks of project work, completion of the UROP oral presentation and submission of a final report) in UROP will have their participation inscribed in their final year academic transcripts. 

Participation with Pass, Merit and Distinction will be recorded.
