New Head of Department of Paediatric Surgery, NUH

Dr Dale Lincoln Loh Ser Kheng will be appointed as Head, Department of Paediatric Surgery, National University Hospital (NUH) with effect from 1 April 2016.
Dr Loh is currently Senior Consultant, Department of Paediatric Surgery, NUH. He obtained his MBBS at University of Glasgow, United Kingdom, followed by his Fellowship of the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons (FRCS) of Glasgow, United Kingdom. He further obtained a FRCS (Paediatric Surgery) of Glasgow, United Kingdom.
Dr Loh received his basic surgical training at the West of Scotland Surgical Training Programme. He went on to the Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, New Children’s Hospital, Westmead, Sydney and the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Edinburgh. Since joining NUH, he has been actively involved in the National Liver Transplant Programme and has undergone clinical attachments with King’s College Hospital Liver Transplant Programme and Paediatric Liver Transplantation at National Centre for Child Health Development in Tokyo.
Dr Loh holds various appointments including Secretary for the South-East Asian Paediatric Endosurgery Group (SEAPEG) and Member of the Singapore Medical Council’s Complaints Panel. He is also the Vice-Chairman, NUHKids Fund and Co-Chairman, NUHKids Cancer Fund.
He succeeds out-going head, Professor Prabhakaran, who has headed the Department since 1 August 2001. Professor Prabhakaran’s leadership and achievements have transformed the department into one of the best Paediatric Surgery departments in the region. The department is a referral centre for complex paediatric surgical problems from across the region.
