Biography
Dr Cornelia Chee is a Senior Consultant Psychiatrist and a key leader in the Department of Psychological Medicine at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS).
In 2008, Dr Chee established the Women’s Emotional Health Service at the National University Hospital (NUH), a program focused on addressing the mental health needs of women. She assumed the role of Head of the Department of Psychological Medicine at both NUS and NUH in 2020, where she leads efforts to improve mental health care and support.
Dr Chee has a strong clinical focus on women’s mental health, especially perinatal psychiatry, as well as general adult psychiatry and community psychiatry. Her work has significantly contributed to better understanding and treatment in these areas.
In addition to her clinical duties, Dr Chee is dedicated to education. She is deeply involved in teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, where she has been recognized for her excellence in teaching.
Dr Chee also serves as a Consultant in the Community Psychiatry team and is an active member of the Adult Protection Team taskforce under the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF). Her leadership and expertise are essential in driving mental health initiatives and improving care standards in Singapore.
