The hallmark of the NUS Centre for Cancer Research (N2CR) is its three cross-cutting themes of Tissue-Specific Carcinogenesis (TSC), Precision Cancer Medicine (PCM) and Early Cancer Intervention (ECI). The purpose of the program is to bring fundamental researchers in basic sciences together with clinicians in collaborative networks to address major scientific or clinical challenges in tackling cancer. TSC theme focuses on unraveling molecular mechanisms of tissue specific carcinogenesis driving therapy resistance in cancer.

The ultimate goal of this Theme is to build an infrastructure and research network that improves how cancer patients are diagnosed, treated and understanding the mechanisms behind therapy resistance in cancer, to identify potential biomarkers of drug resistance/ sensitivity and to identify new targets and treatment modalities to overcome therapy resistance. Scientists from basic science and clinical in TSC thematic programme are invited to present updates and discuss on their ongoing research to address any challenges and issues in research pertaining to cancer therapy resistance.
