Student Organisations

Established in 2008, the Nursing Sub-Club is a student group led by nursing students, for nursing students. The student club takes care of students’ interests and welfare, and organises most of the School’s social, sporting, community service and academic events and initiatives that enrich student life on campus. The Nursing Sub-Club recruits its members at the start of the academic year, so do look out for the announcements if you are keen to join.

NUS Students’ Medical Club (MedNurse Club)

The NUS Students’ Medical Club, also known as MedNurse Club, is the only faculty club sanctioned by NUS Students’ Union (NUSSU) to represent the interests of medical and nursing students at NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. The student club connects both medical and nursing students, and provides room for shared interprofessional experiences.

The events under MedNurse Club’s purview fall into three main groups, namely sports, orientation and welfare.

The sports activities include events such as MedLaw, a friendly tournament between the Medicine and Law faculties; University Healthcare Games, a series of friendly games among the various allied health faculties; and Inter-Faculty Games, the largest annual sporting tournament among NUS students.

MedNurse Club also oversees orientation events to ensure that freshmen get the best orientation experience possible. The MedNurse camp aims to foster greater interprofessional understanding and mutual respect between medical and nursing students. In addition, MedNurse Club runs the annual NUS Rag Day, where students prepare a dance performance for the university. NUS Nursing has clinched the Gold Award for its performances for four years and counting. MedNurse Club also organises the Autism Experiential Camp for freshmen to learn more about Autism Spectrum Disorders through experiencing the daily challenges individuals with autism face. This serves as a prelude to the NUS Flag Day, in which students raise funds for the Autism Resource Centre.

MedNurse Club welcomes all welfare concerns from students, and represents NUS Nursing at NUSSU, ensuring all students at the Faculty of Medicine have a voice in the greater NUS community. Learn more about MedNurse Club on Instagram at @mednurseclub.

Singapore Nurses Association Student Chapter NUS (SNASC NUS)

Serving as a bridge between student and professional nurses, the Singapore Nurses Association Student Chapter NUS (SNASC NUS) facilitates the professional and academic development of our students. SNASC NUS also fosters a support network for nurses, and provides many opportunities for nursing students to organise activities they are passionate about, attend in-house nursing talks and network with nursing professionals. Beyond that, SNASC NUS is also a platform to make new friends and memories. Learn more about SNASC NUS here.
