“Being a mentor was my most rewarding experience thus far in NUS. I remembered in year 1 being incredibly lost together with my tutorial mates and we were forced to figure out our way by ourselves. While it was possible, it was not ideal. I decided to become a mentor so I could relieve some of the stress that comes from being a freshmen for my juniors, especially with the easing of covid measures. Initially it was a little awkward with them, but they eventually bonded a little and got to know more friends in nursing. They asked me questions about my personal experience in clinicals and nursing and I actually felt like I made a good difference by providing them with some advice for school or life :-)”

“When I entered nursing I was very lost because of the huge culture shock I got having came from NS. But I was relieved when I heard we’ll have mentors assigned to us to help us through our orientation. My mentor particularly was very helpful toward any questions I had regarding the course and she helped me to ease into university life easier.”
