For King house, we aim to foster a cohesive inter-generational support group. One where students from all years of nursing can intermingle and benefit from the experience of one another. The aim of King house is to also provide an avenue for making companions and consulting past nurses for advice comfortably. Finally, King house always aims to be the best houses among the 10 in every pedigree. Our spirit is indomitable and our conviction immovable.

“I personally find the peer mentor programme very meaningful. In 2021, I was a mentee and in 2022 I had the privilege of becoming a mentor. As a freshie, I found myself rather disoriented in the relatively unfamiliar university environment. You can imagine my relief when I was linked up with my mentor. My mentor answered my numerous queries and gave us encouragements as well as tips throughout the year. In some way, it was reassuring not to go into every nursing milestone blindly as I had access to the perspective of one who had already traversed this path.
Needless to say, when I had the chance to become a mentor, I jumped at it. My positive experience with my previous mentor was persuasion enough for me to join this program. And I can say in all honesty that I have no regrets for joining the peer mentor programme as a mentor. I have personally been quite blessed with an awesome trio of mentees and they made it quite easy for me to do my role as a mentor! Knowing that I have a bunch of mentees to pave the way for has also motivated me to better understand the nursing curriculum and incentivized me to think of ways to help smooth their nursing journey. This in turn has also benefited my studies and learning.
This is my journey with nursing and the peer mentor programme. What would yours look like? Join us to find out! 🙂“

“The Peer Mentoring Programme has greatly benefited me. Not only was my mentor and fellow mentees friendly and welcoming, but the educational support I received from the programme has been plentiful. With the tips I’ve learned and access to handcrafted notes and study methods, it has greatly helped my learning ability especially in my first semester of University. I feel less and in more control over my studies. What more the tips provided for clinicals has helped me to be better prepared, mentally and physically for my postings. I do hope Peer Mentoring Programme continues for generations to come, as Y1s will definitely benefit from it, given that the mentors and mentees are willing to communicate.”
