Dr. Joko Gunawan is a Research Fellow at the Alice Lee Centre for Nursing Studies, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at the National University of Singapore (NUS). Dr. Gunawan completed his Ph.D. at Chulalongkorn University in Thailand through an accelerated program, advancing directly from a bachelor’s degree to a doctorate with a full scholarship. During his Ph.D. studies, he had the opportunity to serve as a visiting scholar at the University of Florida, USA.
Before joining NUS, Dr. Gunawan was a Research Fellow at Chulalongkorn University. His primary research focuses include nursing workforce and development, nurse retention and migration, and leadership and management competencies. Dr. Gunawan’s work has achieved international recognition; he has been named among the World’s Top 2% Scientists from 2021 onward, established by Elsevier and Stanford University.
