Professor Wang Wenru is a highly experienced professional with over 20 years of expertise in clinical nursing, university teaching, and research. Throughout her career, she has taught undergraduate and postgraduate students at prestigious universities across Asia, earning a reputation for excellence in teaching. Prof. Wang has supervised more than 100 research students at the Honours, Master’s, and Doctoral levels, and has served as both an internal and external examiner for numerous PhD candidates.

Prof Wang’s research interests predominantly revolve around chronic illness and long-term care, with a specific focus on cardiovascular health, cardiac rehabilitation, diabetes management, and active aging. Her studies often involve complex psychosocial interventions that employ innovative approaches (mHealth, telemedicine, AI) to design and implement health promotion and secondary prevention strategies. As a Principal Investigator, Prof. Wang has secured over 30 external competitive grants, amounting to nearly SGD$10.0 million. She has also authored more than 200 peer-reviewed papers in esteemed medical/nursing journals. Recognized as an authority in her field, she has delivered keynote speeches, presented her research, and conducted seminars and workshops at over 100 national and international nursing conferences and universities. In acknowledgment of her significant contributions to nursing research, Prof. Wang was honored as a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing in 2020 and was selected as an inductee into Sigma’s International Nurse Researchers Hall of Fame in 2023.

Beyond her research and academic pursuits, Prof. Wang actively contributes to the field of nursing through various appointments. She currently serves as the Chair of the Chronic Illness and Long-term Care Research Programme at NUS Nursing. She acts as an Ambassador of the World Federation of Critical Care Nurses and serves on the Heart Wellness Centre Committee in Singapore. As a Visiting Professor, she holds positions at Wuhan University, Dalian University, and Hubei University of Medicine in China. Prof. Wang has also been appointed as an Associate Editor of the European Journal of Cardiovascular Nursing and serves as an Editorial Board member for several renowned international nursing journals.
