Jennifer Li Yuan has extensive clinical and educational experience in geriatric nursing. Before joining the National University of Singapore as an Assistant Professor, she was an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) in Geriatric Medicine at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, where she played key roles in developing innovative models of care to improve the quality of life for older adults.

She was instrumental in establishing the Geriatric Surgical Service at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, pioneering a co-management care model that integrates geriatric and surgical expertise to provide comprehensive perioperative care for older surgical patients. She also led the hospital-wide implementation of the Delirium Bundle to improve delirium prevention and management. At the national level, she contributed to developing geriatric nursing competency frameworks to strengthen nursing expertise in older adult care. 

As a passionate educator, Jennifer has trained and mentored nurses at all levels, including APN trainees and Master of Nursing students. She has also contributed to the development of structured geriatric nursing education programs in the hospital and mentored nurses to strengthen their competency in older adult care. She received the NHG Best Teacher Award in 2017 in recognition of her contributions to nursing education.  

Her work in clinical practice, education, and research reflects her dedication to advancing geriatric nursing and improving healthcare for older adults.
