Currently an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN)/ Assistant Nurse Clinician (ANC) at NUH Paediatric ICU
Graduated with: BSc Nursing, 2011 and MSc Nursing, 2018

The experience from NUS Nursing has shaped and challenged me to become a nurse who seeks to ensure that the care I provide is evidence-based and up-to-date. I also made many valuable friendships with doctors and pharmacists during the interprofessional training and classes. This prepared me for the real-world where I am required to work closely with doctors and allied health to deliver excellent care to patients.

I was also given the opportunity to participate in an exchange programme in Taiwan where I made many wonderful and meaningful friendships with the nurses there whom I still keep in touch with until today!

Currently a Community Health Advanced Practice Nurse at Bukit Panjang Polyclinic (National University Polyclinics)
Graduated with: Master of Nursing, 2020

The Master of Nursing (MN) program from NUS Nursing was conducted by incredibly knowledgeable faculty members. They provided a safe and wonderful learning environment to support students to ensure their academic successes. Other than honing our clinical skills, the MN program also taught us important research skills, allowing us to utilise best evidence-based practices to make informed decisions for patient care.

Although the curriculum was challenging, it provided me with a solid foundation to sharpen my clinical skills. The course definitely prepared me well for my current role.

Assistant Nurse Clinician, National University Cancer Institute, Singapore, National University Hospital

It has been my aspiration and professional goal to be an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) caring for cancer patients. Choosing NUS Nursing for my Masters was an obvious choice as it is the only accredited programme by the Singapore Nursing Board for APN registration.

Being an NUS alumnus and being back in NUS for my Masters degree has been a very enjoyable one so far. It’s definitely nice to see familiar faces who have taught me in my Bachelors studies, and learning in a familiar academic environment.

In terms of the curriculum and training, I am confident that the Masters degree from NUS Nursing will equip me with the necessary foundational knowledge and skills for my future role as an APN.
