At the NUS Alice Lee Centre for Nursing Studies (NUS Nursing), we are preparing students to apply their knowledge and skills to advance health care and make a real difference to the wellbeing of patients.
Since recruiting its first students in 2006, the NUS Bachelor of Science (Nursing) programme continues to focus on teaching excellence through class and clinical instruction. Our graduates are well-prepared to join the workforce as professional nurses in a variety of settings. Employers have been giving us feedback that our graduates are well sought after by the local health care institutions. The programme also provides them the foundation for graduate education and continuing professional development.
In NUS, we strive to create a vibrant and engaging learning environment for staff, students and our clinical partners. We emphasize evidence-based nursing, critical thinking and community service in our nursing curriculum. Student learning is further supported by clinical postings that begin in the first semester of year one. Being part of a premier university and maintaining a close affiliation with the National University Health System (NUHS) provides an excellent environment for our faculty and students. Students have the opportunity to develop and strengthen their clinical skills through participation in a range of clinical simulation scenarios in our state-of-the-art Centre for Healthcare Simulation (CHS). NUS Nursing is also a firm believer in promoting and practising interprofessional education.
Our faculty are committed to teaching excellence and are recognized for their innovative approaches to teaching and assessments. They continuously look for ways to keep themselves abreast of new professional developments in education so as to enhance the learning experience of students. Whether classes are conducted in-person, web-based or in a hybrid mode, they all focus on offering students opportunities for high-quality and convenient learning.
If you are considering nursing as a career, you will find NUS Nursing an exciting place to be.
