Honours student will be expected to complete the following courses:
NUR4101B Evidence-based Health Care Practice (6 units) | This course aims to provide students with the theoretical underpinnings of evidence-based practice. It explores different levels of evidence, importance of critical analysis of evidence, understanding the processes of locating evidence, and leading practice changes, based on best evidence. Students will learn to evaluate, integrate and implement best evidence into nursing practice to achieve better patient outcomes. |
NUR4102B Consolidated Clinical Practice (10 units) | This course enables students to integrate theory and clinical knowledge through experience in the clinical setting. Students will focus on planning, implementing and evaluating care using evidence based practice. Students will apply knowledge from nursing and clinical sciences in the clinical management of patients. This course requires a 100% attendance. |
NUR4103B Applied Research Methods (6 units) |
This course provides students with knowledge and skills on quantitative and qualitative research methods. Major topics include an introduction to research; framing a research question; collection and analysis of quantitative data, qualitative data collection and analysis. |
NUR4104B Honours Project in Nursing (14 units) |
In this course, the student draws together the clinical experiences, theoretical knowledge and research skills gained through the programme to conduct a supervised research project either primary or secondary research. The student will design, conduct and submit a research project under the supervision of an academic staff member and principal investigator. |
