Programme Overview

From AY26/27, Honours students will be expected to complete the following courses:

Evidence Implementation in Healthcare (NUR4101C)

Applied Research Methods (NUR4103C)
Consolidated Clinical Practice (NUR4102C) Systematic Review (NUR4105)

Research Track: Final Year Project (Research) NUR4104C

or

Coursework Track: Honours Coursework NUR4108

+ 12units of Unrestricted Elective Courses (UECs) (Can Be Taken Anytime Throughout the 4 Years of study)

Honours student will be expected to complete the following courses:

NUR4101C Evidence Implementation in Healthcare    (4 units)

This course aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills to translate research evidence to clinical practice using Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) and Implementation Science concepts. Emphasizing the integration of research findings into clinical practice, students will examine key strategies for assessing, implementing, and evaluating evidence-based interventions, as well as address common barriers to successful implementation in diverse healthcare settings. Through case studies and practical applications, students will develop the skills necessary to plan and support EBP implementation initiatives, advancing quality improvement and fostering a culture of evidence-driven healthcare practice.

NUR4102C Consolidated Clinical Practice (8 units) This course enables students to integrate theory and clinical knowledge through experience in the clinical setting. Students will focus on planning, implementing and evaluating care using evidence based practice. Students will apply knowledge from nursing and clinical sciences in the clinical management of patients for transition into the role and competencies of a newly Registered Nurse. This course requires a 100% attendance.

NUR4103C Applied Research Methods (4 units)
This course provides students with knowledge and skills on quantitative and qualitative research methods. Major topics include an introduction to research; framing a research question; collection and analysis of quantitative data, qualitative data collection and analysis.

NUR4104C Final Year Project (Research) (8 units)
This course aims to integrate students’ draw together the clinical experiences, theorectical knowledge and research skills gained through the programme to conduct a supervised primary or secondary research project. The student will conceptualize design, conduct, write and submit a research project under the supervision of an academic staff member and principal investigator.
