Dr Darryl Ang is a research fellow at NUS Nursing. His teaching, clinical and research interests have centered largely on building human potential and competencies and developing innovative approaches to enhance supportive cancer and palliative care. He has a special interest in qualitative research methods and has employed different data collection techniques such as interviews, instant messaging, and Photovoice to enrich his studies.

To date, he has developed and evaluated several resilience programs through randomized controlled trials and process evaluations. Notable programs include the Resilience Skills Enhancement (RISE) program for young adults, and the Psychological Readiness Enhancement for Transition to Professional Practice (PRE-TTP) program for nursing students.

With a background as an oncology-hematology nurse, Dr. Ang is currently focused on integrating resilience, death cafés, and advance care planning into supportive psychosocial cancer and palliative care. He has completed several evidence translation projects aimed at improving cancer care. In recognition of his contributions, he received the National University Health System Prestige Award (Quality Improvement and Patient Experience).

As an educator, Dr Ang contributes to various courses within the undergraduate nursing curriculum such as palliative and end-of-life care, research and evidence-based practice, and clinical simulation. As a thesis advisor, he has guided his honours students to publish in high-impact journals and present at international conferences.

Internationally, Dr. Ang contributes as a board member and secretary of the Asian Oncology Nursing Society. He is also an Associate Editor of JBI Evidence Implementation journal, and an editorial board member of BMC Nursing, Frontiers in Public Health, and Frontiers in Psychiatry. He is a peer reviewer for numerous esteemed journals, including Journal of Cancer Survivorship, Nurse Education Today, and European Journal of Oncology Nursing.
