The Non-Graduate Research Programme at the Alice Lee Centre for Nursing Studies (NUS Nursing) offers overseas graduate research students an opportunity to undertake a research attachment at the National University of Singapore (NUS), one of Asia’s leading research universities. During the attachment, students will be hosted and mentored by a NUS Nursing faculty member, who will work closely with the student’s home institution supervisor to provide academic guidance and research support. This may include support in refining research ideas, strengthening research methods, and progressing scholarly outputs such as thesis writing and manuscript preparation.
Please note that students in this programme will not be allowed access to patients in healthcare institutions in Singapore, and no degree will be awarded by NUS under this programme.
The programme is fully self-funded and is offered in January and August every year. Overseas PhD candidates who require a conditional invitation letter for their own funding application should submit their CV to our administrative staff at nurbox3@nus.edu.sg, by 15 November each year. Only Year 2 and above PhD students are eligible.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview, and conditional invitation letters will be issued after the interview.
Details of the research attachments under the NUS Non-Graduating Programme is available at this link: https://www.nus.edu.sg/registrar/prospective-students/non-graduating/research
You will not be allowed to participate in research activities especially with patients in the hospital as you are not registered with the Singapore Nursing Board. However, you may assist your supervisor with administrative duties under the supervisor’s research projects if permitted.
